Today I want to talk about Powtoon– a fun, simple animation program that “brings awesomeness to your presentations”. This was introduced to me by a friend and colleague on Udemy, Anneke Camstra. Anneke teaches several wonderful courses on Udemy on how to get started with Powtoon. It is so much fun! You can visit Anneke Camstra’s Youtube channel to see some samples of her work and courses.
Best of all, Powtoon has a free version and you can play around with it, see if you like it and use it to make animated birthday cards etc. for your family. The free version is probably all you need for personal use. If you are accustomed to learning computer programs, you will be able to figure out how to get started just by going to the Powtoon site. (Anneke’s courses are a lot more fun, though. They will save you time and give you great additional tips from an artist’s point of view.)
I made the promo video that I am going to show you using the free version. However, I have since upgraded to the Premium version so that I can use it to market my online courses. Here’s a video that I made. What do you think?
So- for a fun project this weekend, why not visit Powtoon and then make an animated message for someone that you care about? Let me know if you try it! I’d love to hear how you made out.
